Linode is one of the older independent clouds, founded in 2003 and now part of Akamai, which gives it the reach of a large edge network behind a control panel that stayed straightforward. Pricing is flat monthly with the transfer allowance included.

What you get

Shared CPU plans start with the 1 GB Nanode and scale to twenty cores with 96 GB of memory, all on SSD. Dedicated CPU, high memory, GPU and premium instances sit above that, alongside managed Kubernetes, object storage and databases.

Worth knowing

Transfer allowances are unusually generous at the low end, with a terabyte included on the smallest plan, and unused allowance is pooled across your account.
